Just another weekend.

Well, it was just another weekend for me. I did some vacuuming, ironing, and did some more packing for the move. I went to see Evan Almighty with Harry and Liz on Saturday. This afternoon, I spent time playing "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" on my PS2. I watched a rerun of "Doctor Who" tonight.

In case I hadn't mentioned it before, my roommate and I are looking to move. Our apartment complex keeps raising our rent. We're looking to get some equity. I certainly wouldn't mind getting a bigger bedroom.

Game update, movie, etc.

Well, I played more "LEGO Star Wars II" on Friday night. I got to be Luke as he flies to Bespin and faces off with some Stormtroopers and Darth Vader. I was impressed by how close it was to the actual The Empire Strikes Back movie, even depicting Vader cutting off Luke's hand in the cutscene, then Luke dropping off the machinery to escape Vader after Vader tells Luke that he's Luke's father.....

On Saturday, I went out with Harry and Liz and saw Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. It had some surprises (I had thought Doom would only make a brief appearance in the film, but he was a key part of the story), and a lot of great special effects. Later that day, Diana and I paid a visit to my folks to celebrate Father's Day a little early since they were planning to do some travelling on Sunday.

On Sunday, I napped for awhile. Later, I watched the second part of the season finale of the first season of the new "Doctor Who." I found it very touching, and nearly shed some tears on a few occasions. There's something to be said for a man who willingly risks his life to save others, even taking extraordinary measures to keep those he loves from dying with him. And one can't ignore a young woman so changed by her time with an extraordinary man that she risks her own life and says "no" to an ordinary existance to try to save that man from death.

The weekend, game updates.

Well, this was a pretty good weekend. I went to see Ocean's 13 with my friend Harry. I also made some progress with a few of my video games:

I finally finished "Kingdom Hearts II" yesterday evening. My group went through the door to face off with Xemnas. We worked our way through a city, then Riku and I fought some enemies similar to ones I had seen in Gummi Ship missions. We attacked a generator of some kind, then faced off with an armored foe (Xemnas in disquise?). After we beat him (or so we thought), a black portal opened. Most of my group went through it, but Riku and I were left behind when it closed unexpectedly. We got on a ship and faced off with a giant, dragon-like spaceship. We shot at it and the various robotic enemies that came at us. During and between attacks, I charged up a Megalaser. Using the laser, we were able to damage the spaceship and eventually board it. We saw the armored guy again and attacked. I got knocked back a few times, but I kept attacking. At one point, Xemnas whisked us away to some strange in-between place. He grabbed me (as Sora), and I had to fight him as Riku to free Sora. We pressed our attack (I died a few times) until we finally beat him. After that, we wandered into a dark and desolate world. We hung out there for awhile, then I found a note in a bottle from Kairi. A door of light opened, and we went into it. We wound up back at the island from the first "Kingdom Hearts" game, and everyone (Kairi, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy) welcomed us home. And that was the end of the game, though there was a cutscene after the credits were Sora finds another message in a bottle from King Mickey.....

Today, I played another chapter of "LEGO Star Wars II." The chapter was set in Dagobah, and I got to shoot (and later saber) bats and a few giant snakes as Luke. I also met up with Yoda and "learned" how to use the Force to lift (and occasionally blow up) stuff. I got to face off with a phantom of Darth Vader, then played as Yoda to lift my X-Wing out of the swamp.....

Weekend stuff.

Well, I had a pretty good weekend. I played more of my new game, "LEGO Star Wars II." I had started The Empire Strikes Back chapters on Thursday, taking on AT-STs (Chicken Walkers) and AT-ATs (Elephant Walkers) using a snow speeder. On Friday night, I got to run around Echo Base, shooting Stormtroopers and Snowtroopers as Han Solo. In the next chapter, I got to fly around in the Falcon and shoot at TIE fighters and asteriods while fleeing the Hoth System. I even got to fly in and out of the Space Slug a few times.....

Another game I played this weekend (earlier today) was "Kingdom Hearts II." I got to fight with another member of Organization XIII named Saixx. I beat him with help from Donald and Goofy using the joint attacks. We made our way further up the Castle's outer stairways and saw Ansem's heart-stealing devise overload. The hearts rained down on the World that Never Was, and Riku changed back to his original self (he had looked like someone from Organization XIII). We went back inside the castle and discovered the main corridor was open. We made our way through a huge, strange inner chamber, fighting Nobodies as we climbed higher and higher. Hundreds of Heartless appeared in the lower part of the chamber, and they started heading up toward us. Pete and Malificent appeared, the latter telling us they would take care of the Heartless so we could go after Xemnas, the leader of Organization XIII. Her motivation wasn't entirely pure: she intended to claim the castle as her own when the battle was over. We launched ourselves at Xemnas, but he did some kind of magic thing that whisked himself and myself away. We appeared in front of Memory Skyscraper, and the battle was on. I fought him using various Reaction and combo attacks. I was triumphant, but he wasn't out yet. I found myself back in the castle, and he was calling for hearts to come to his aid. A huge gate appeared, and Riku told us we just had to enter the gate to start the final battle with Xemnas. I decided to pop around to a few worlds first, seeing if I could get the Moggles (those floating chicken things) to synthesize anything powerful I could use. I got some items, then went back and saved the game. Next weekend, I hope to defeat Xemnas and finish the game......

Besides playing video games, I did some other stuff. I got my hair cut. I spend most of Saturday with Harry and Liz. We had a big lunch at Valentino's (my favorite buffet), then went to rent some movies. We ended up getting Beowulf (1999 version) and The Crow: Salvation. Both had some graphic elements we hadn't expected, and we didn't enjoy the movies as much as we had hoped to. Harry and I decided that The Crow: Salvation was the best of the pair, since the plot was easier to follow. They were also kind enough to let me eat grilled hot dogs with them for dinner. All in all, a pretty good weekend......
