The weekend and today.

Saturday was pretty laid back. I did laundry and played my "X-Men Legends II" game. I did some reading, some ironing, and watched TV.

Sunday was good. I got a lift to and from church from Gwen. She also helped me with my grocery shopping. Later, Harry came by and picked me up. We ran a few errands, then played "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" at his place. Afterwards, we had dinner at Fazoli's with Liz before he took me back to my townhome.

Today, I kept pretty busy at work. Sadly, I didn't see Betty at all. We (my area of the company) got some chips and salsa from the tech guys in the afteroon. We also learned a sponsor was catering breakfast for us on Tuesday.

Brief Betty sightings.

Well, I did catch a few brief glimpses of Betty today. I saw her outside a room where we had a company meeting. A short while later, I saw her on the stairs ahead of me. I didn't get to speak to her (not sure if she even saw me), but at least I got to see her.

Two days of sightings, and two days without sightings.

I saw Betty twice at close range on the first two days of the week. First, I saw her Monday while waiting in line for food the company had catered for lunch. I would have said something to her, but the room was a bit noisy. The second occasion I saw her was on Tuesday. I was in the break room for my pre-lunch break, and she was sitting at one of the tables. I would have spoken to her then, but she was talking with one of my coworkers the whole time I was in the room.

Sadly, I didn't see Betty yesterday or today. I hope I get to see her tomorrow, but only time will tell.....

Meanwhile, I have been taping a lot of stuff this week. I taped "Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles" and "Heroes" on Monday. Yesterday, I taped "Knight Rider." Tonight, I plan to tape "Smallville."

X-Men Legends II, Justice League Heroes.

This was a video game-playing weekend for me. On Saturday, I played my "X-Men Legends II" game. I replaced Iceman with Nightcrawler and got through the Madri Temple mission. I even got to fight with Holocaust, the son of Apocalypse.

Today, I got together with Harry. After walking his puppy (Thor), we played "Justice League Heroes." We completed the hive level with Harry as Martian Manhunter and with me as Zatanna. Then, we played a level with the Flash and Green Latern (with me as the Lantern). After that, we played levels I hadn't seen in the game the first time we played it (because we hadn't reached them before), and I got to play as the Manhunter, Wonder Woman, and again as Batman, Zatanna, and the Green Lantern (who I switched from Jon Stewart to Hal Jordan).

Deja Vu sightings.

I had two Betty sightings this week, and they both went nearly the same way. On Monday, I saw Betty as I was leaving work. I waved at her a few times, but she was looking away both times that I waved. As we (Pat and I) were leaving, I saw Betty in her car driving away from work.

On Thursday, it happened pretty much the same way, except that I didn't try waving since Betty wasn't looking my way (at least when we were outside the building she wasn't). We (Pat and I) got out of the parking lot first, so Betty was driving a few cars behind us as we pulled out of the parking lot.

Betty sightings, injury, time with Harry.

Well, I had a few Betty sightings since my last entry. I saw her Wednesday in the break room during my lunch. She saw me and said, "Hey, David" and I responded with, "Hey, [Betty]." On Friday, I saw her in the stairwell as she was leaving for the week. We talked briefly, parting as she wished me a good weekend.

On Saturday, I injured myself running to the bank. I took longer than I should have getting out of bed and ready in the morning. I was concerned that Harry would call soon to relay our weekend activity (a movie or time at his place), so I was hurrying after I left the townhouse. It has been raining recently, and I slipped on some wet grass or mud after crossing the street. I went down on my left knee and hand, scraping both on the sidewalk and ripping a hole in the left knee of my jeans. My left knee was bloody and red, so I limped home. After I did my best to wash my wounds, I put some band-aids and paper towels over my knee scrape. I used the gauze tape I had left over from my abscess surgery back in June to tape the paper towels in place.

As it turned out, Harry called me after I had patched myself up to let me know we would be getting together in the afternoon instead of in the morning. I was relieved to hear this, feeling reluctant to go out of the townhouse with my knee still tender and bleeding. While I recuperated, I did the laundry and some reading. Harry called me in the afternoon (as he had said he would), and we went out to an early dinner at Hector's (a Mexican food restaurant) with Liz and her sister. We ran some errands, then went to his place. I got to see (and help walk) his new puppy, Thor. Later, we (Harry and I) played "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance."

Today, I did the usual Sunday stuff. I finished reading "Voyage of the Dawn Treader." Now, I plan to play more of my PS2 "X-Men Legends II" game....

Betty sighting, thoughts.

I saw Betty briefly today as I was leaving work. I was in a car with one of my coworkers, so I waved as we drove by her. She smiled and waved back.

I find myself again pondering whether or not I should tell her how I feel. On the one hand, my feelings are fairly innocent, so telling her shouldn't shock or upset her in any way. On the other hand, my luck with telling my feelings to women and getting a positive response seems to only come in the bad variety. I am thinking I should wait a little longer before telling her. It would help if I could get to know her a little better to minimize the chance of the revelation being a shock to her (or to see if my feelings have any real basis to them). If she's not my type of girl, then finding that out without making a private revelation to her would be best.

Productive weekend.

I didn't get together with Harry and Liz this weekend, but it was a productive one for me. I visited the bank on Saturday, then checked out a clearance sale at the local Blockbuster. I found two movies of interest to me, but I couldn't decide on a third to get the deal they offered. I spent most of the day doing laundry. I played "X-Men Legends II" for a few hours Saturday night, putting a good-sized dent in the third act.

Today, I did some miscellaneous things. I did my grocery shopping. I finished reading The War of the Worlds. I swept the laundry room. Diana and I are getting together later for dinner with Norman and Gwen.

A trio of Betty sightings.

I saw Betty three times today (not counting a dream I had of her this morning where I became tongue-tied while looking her in the eyes). First, I saw her on my way to the restroom on my pre-lunch break. We exchanged greetings before I ducked into the men's restroom. Second, I saw her through the window of my department while she was walking somewhere (maybe the ladies' restroom?) in the elevator lobby. I waved to her, and she smiled and waved back. Later, I was running some important paperwork to a courier and saw her through the window of her department as I was entering the stairwell. I waved to her, and she waved back. Sadly, I didn't get to say as much to her as when we saw each other a week ago Thursday.....

Twelve years in the city, Betty sighting.

Today is the 12th anniversary of when I moved to the city I currently live in. It kinda makes me feel old, since I moved to this city less than six months after I graduated from college....

Today, I was pleasantly surprised to see and speak with Betty. I was running some paperwork to another department on a different floor, and she popped out of the stairs as I was heading toward them. Here's how our conversation went:

Me: "Hey..."
Betty: "Hey, David. How's it going?"
Me: "It's going."
Betty: "Good."

I was glad to see Betty, and I felt like she was happy to see me as well, even though we didn't have much time to talk.....
