Memorial Day Weekend.

I had a pretty busy Memorial Day weekend. On Friday, I got out of work early and got together with Harry and Liz. We got picked up some dinner and went to their place. Harry and I watched Avatar on blu-ray. Later, we roasted marshmellows over a portable fire pit and had s'mores with Liz.

On Saturday, I went to Norman and Gwen's future home and helped them with some cleaning there. Some people brought some stuff for us to unload, then we headed back to my townhome. Diana got us some pizza for dinner.

On Sunday, I did the usual stuff. I worked on laundry (I didn't get to it on Saturday like I normally do) and did some reading. I played more of my "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" game, starting the Atlantis level.

Today, I had the day off of work. I did more reading and finished the laundry. I also did some cleaning in my room and finished the Atlantis level on "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance."

BBQ lunches, Star Trek: Enterprise.

On Saturday, I got together with Diana, Gwen, Norman, and Norman's folks for lunch at a bistro restaurant. It was to celebrate Gwen's teaching job. I had a pulled BBQ chicken sandwich, and it was pretty good. I also did laundry and some reading.

Today, I also had some BBQ chicken for lunch, using store-bought chicken. Later, Diana and I went out and got a new filter for my townhome's furnace. The old one had been there (if the date written on it was accurate) nearly six years. Later, I did some reading and watched "Mythbusters." Now, I've started watching my tape of the first season of "Star Trek: Enterprise."

Busy week, quiet weekend.

The week was pretty busy for me. At work, a new application system was being tested. They wanted us to put in overtime, so I put in some extra afternoon hours and worked through lunch Wednesday through Friday. My supervisors were kind enough to get my department catered lunches on Wednesday through Friday.

It was a quiet weekend. On Saturday, I did the laundry and some ironing. I also did some cleaning stuff I hadn't gotten to the week before. Harry had called me Friday night to let me know he had some cleaning of his own to do, so we didn't get together this weekend. I played more of my "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" game on my PS2.

Today, I did the usual Sunday stuff. I took a nap after lunch. I did some reading and some stuff online. I called Clark and left a message on his voice mail.

Iron Man 2, Mother's Day.

Last week, I watched my DVD copy of Iron Man. Yesterday, I got together with Harry and Liz to see Iron Man 2. It was pretty good, though there were some parts of it that were iffy (like a drunken Tony Stark celebrating his birthday in his Iron Man armor). Afterwards, they took me back to my place. I did my laundry and some reading. I played my "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" game.

Today, I did the usual Sunday stuff, then got together with some people for lunch. Diana and I met with Cosmo, Wanda, Norman, Gwen, and Norman's parents and grandmother. We had lasagna, cake, and ice cream. Gwen's birthday is in a few days, so Diana and I gave her a gift today. Afterwards, I went home and took a nap.

Work, Free Comic Book Day.

I got a temporary job at the place I was working at as a temp back in December and January. I started on Thursday, and everyone seemed glad to see me back. I even came in on Saturday to work some hours in the afternoon (mostly because I hadn't worked most of the week and felt I could use the extra pay).....

Yesterday was Free Comic Book Day (the first Saturday in May every year). I went to the closest participating comic book store in the morning. To my surprise, there were two huge lines outside the store a mere ten minutes after the store was supposed to open. I waited outside in line for nearly an hour, watching some interesting people in costumes walking around. There were guys dressed as stormtroopers and clone troopers. There was a guy dressed as Batman (Michael Keaton version), and a gal dressed as Tinker Bell. I also saw a guy with a life-sized remote control red and white R2 unit that looked like it was made of wood and metal. It moved and sounded a lot like R2D2 from the Star Wars movies. There was also a convertible modified to look like K.I.T.T. from "Knight Rider" (the 1980's version) in the parking lot. Sadly, I didn't have my digital camera with me, though I was able to take a few pictures with the camera on my cell phone. I got seven free comic books and bought a pack of protective covers after I got inside. To my amusement, I found myself behind the same people in line at the counter as I had been when I was in line outside the store.....

Today was Norman and Gwen's second anniversary. I posted them on Facebook and talked to Gwen on the phone in the afternoon. I finished some laundry leftover from Saturday and did some napping and reading.
