Memorial Day Weekend.

I had a pretty good weekend. On Friday, they let us out of work early. I did some ironing, cleaned the toilets, and watched TV. On Saturday, I got together with Harry, Liz, and Norma. We ran some errands, ate lunch, and went to their place. We watched Megamind and Resident Evil: Afterlife. I spent the night there.

On Sunday, I went to church with them. Afterwards, we had lunch and ran some errands. They took me home, and I took a nap. I started watching my DVD copy of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

I had today off of work. I did my grocery shopping. Diana made sloppy joes for lunch with baked beans. I took a nap, then worked on my laundry. I did some sweeping and some reading. I watched more of Revenge of the Fallen.

Pirates, lazy Sunday.

On Saturday, I got together with Harry, Liz, and Norma. We ate breakfast at McDonald's, then ran some errands. We went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: on Stranger Tides. We ate lunch, ran some more errands, and went back to their place. Later, we ate dinner at Hector's before they took me home.

Today, I did the usual Sunday stuff. I took a nap, then worked on laundry. I did some reading and watched TV.

Spiders, Freeing Tyr.

Last night, I saw something I hardly believed: a wolf spider trapped in the web of a tiny house spider (or possibly a comb-footed spider). Apparently, sometime during that evening, a wolf spider was crawling across the floor of my bathroom and got caught in a web on the floor beneath my towel rack. In what must have been an epic battle, a spider a fifth the size of the wolf spider subdued and bit the much larger spider. I didn't see the struggle myself, only the aftermath: the snared wolf spider with its legs bent in, and the tiny web-building spider feeding on it.

Today, I played more of my "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" game on my PS2. I switched between Spider-Man and Thor on the Asgard portion of the Valhalla level. As Spider-Man, I fought alongside Thor, Ghost Rider, and Iron Man and beat the [Ultra]Scorpion and the Lizard. As Thor, I forged the Asgard Armor and freed Tyr.

Thor, Comics, Mother's Day.

On Friday night, I went to see Thor (in 3-D) with Harry, Liz, and Liz's sister. Afterwards, we picked up Norma and ate a late dinner at Olive Garden

On Saturday, I put in a few extra hours at work, then went to Krypton Comics. It was Free Comic Book Day, so I picked up half a dozen comics and a Green Lantern HeroClix figure. Afterwards, I went home, took a nap, and did some laundry.

Today is Mother's Day. I got together with Diana, Cosmo, Wanda, Gwen, Norman, and Norman's folks, brother, and sister-in-law at Norman's place. We had lunch, then I went back to my place for a nap. I finished the laundry.

Zoo and the Wrecking Crew.

Above is a picture from when I was kayaking with Diana and Timmy in California. It's one of the houses we went by in the harbor.

On Saturday, I got together with Harry, Liz, and Norma. We went to Hector's for lunch, ran an errand, and headed over to the zoo. Norma wasn't as interested in the animals as we had hoped, though she did notice a butterfly flying around Harry in the Butterfly Habitat and was intrigued by the jellyfish we saw in the aquarium:

Today, I finished the laundry leftover from Saturday. I called Cosmo and Wanda to wish them a happy anniversary. I played "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" on my PS2: I beat the Wrecking Crew playing as Iron Man with Spider-Man, Dr. Strange, and Wolverine. Afterwards, I did some exploring and got Thor and Ghost Rider back. I played as Thor for awhile and got the Hammer of Vidar in Asgard.

California Trip, Easter.

I had a great time on my trip to California. A week ago yesterday, Diana, Gwen, and I arrived. We were picked up by Trixie at the airport. We hung around Timmy and Trixie's house for a bit, then Gwen and I painted the chimney. Later, I was on the roof helping Cosmo, Timmy, and some others put down new roof tiles.

On Palm Sunday, we visited a satellite church location. Later, we walked around the area around the pier. I took a bunch of pictures. The next day, Cosmo, Clark, Norman, Gwen, and I went to Newport Beach. I took several pictures over there as well. Clark and I hiked to the end of a jetty made up of large rocks.

On Tuesday, about half of our group had to leave. The rest of us went out and did some kayaking. I got several pictures of boats and houses as Timmy, Diana, and I paddled around the harbor. Later, we had lunch at Woody's Diner.

On Wednesday, we took it easy before Diana and I left. We caught a plane to Denver in the afternoon. At the airport, we ate dinner before catching a flight back to our home city. The picture at the beginning of this entry I took as our plane was flying out of California.

Today (Easter) I kept busy. Diana and I went to church, then did our grocery shopping and picked up lunch. I took a nap, then did the rest of the laundry. I also did some reading and edited several pictures from my trip.

Getting together, Ultimate Alliance.

I got together with Harry and Liz a few times in March. We went to see Mars Needs Moms near the end of March. The last weekend in March, I got together with them to celebrate Liz's birthday. I took some pictures of Norma and watched their Blu-Ray copy of Twilight: Eclipse.

Harry loaned me two movies on DVD to watch: Red and All-Star Superman. The first movie was interesting and reminded me of Ocean's Eleven, but with fewer stars and more guns. The second movie was pretty good, but the ending was kind of lame and made Lois Lane seem like she might have lost her marbles.....

I started playing my PS2 game, "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" again recently. I completed the Mephisto's Realm level using Spider-Man, Ghost Rider, Thor, and Dr. Strange. This last Sunday, I got started on the Valhalla Level and stopped right before the fight with the Wrecking Crew on the Bifrost Bridge. I lost two of my team in the section before the last savepoint (the fireballs coming down the bridge), so I replaced them with Dr. Strange and Wolverine before saving the game.

On Sunday, I got together with Diana, Cosmo, and Wanda. The latter two were staying at Norman and Gwen's place before their big trip to California to see Timmy and Trixie. I had dinner with the trio, and we talked about the trip.

Speaking of trips, I am heading out to the Birthland this weekend. I plan to take a lot of pictures, some of which I hope to post here when I return.

The Sith and the Green Hornet.

Last week, I watched my tape of Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. I always find the scenes where Darth Vader enters the room with the Younglings (before killing them) and the final lecture Obi-Wan gives a burning, de-limbed Anakin on Mustafar very heart-rending. The first scene moves me because one sees what a monster Anakin has become as the result of his fear of losing Padme. The second scene moves me because it seems like the whole fight between Obi-Wan and Vader could have been avoided if Anakin had only listened to Obi-Wan and Padme (and Yoda, for that matter) when they were trying to help him....

On Saturday, I got together with Harry and saw The Green Hornet. This movie was funny and very exciting. We went to see it in IMAX 3-D (quite expensive). Afterwards, we ran an errand: I was trying to sell some old video games I didn't want anymore.

Today, I did a lot of reading and worked on laundry. I watched some of Iron Man and The Dark Knight on cable.

Chilly weekend.

It's been pretty cold the past few weeks. Last week, I watched my newest DVD purchase: Inception. On Saturday, I got together with Harry, Liz, and Norma. We ran some errands, then I had dinner at their house. We watched Knight and Day on Blu-ray.

Today, I did some cleaning and laundry. I also watched my tape of Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones. I took a nap and did some reading.

New Year's Weekend.

I had Friday off of work, so I got together with Harry, Liz, and Norma. We ran some errands and ate at Hector's. Back at their place, I entertained Norma while they got things ready for dinner. Some friends' of Liz's came over for dinner. After everyone else left, we hung out for awhile, then I spent the night there.

New Year's Day, I spent more time with Harry, Liz, and Norma. Harry and I watched the blu-ray I got him for Christmas: Superman/Shazam vs Black Adam. We ate at the mall and ran some errands. We had dinner and watched Prince of Persia. After that, Harry showed me "Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions." He took me home.

Today, I did the usual Sunday stuff. I took a nap and did some reading. I worked on laundry.
