Dark Kingdom and Doctor Who.

Well, this was a pretty good weekend. I got together with Liz and Harry on Saturday night. We ran some errands, and then Harry and I played "Dark Kingdom" at his house. We got through the Silver Cathedral and quit during the steam pipes. We leveled up at least three times during the game, and I made good use of my fireball and ice nova attacks as Gandolf. Harry also used an electrical attack with his character and a black hole attack a few times.

I also started watching my tape of the third season of "Doctor Who." So far, I have watched the Christmas 90-minute (only 58 minutes when you cut out all the commercials) episode "The Runaway Bride." Though I miss Christopher Eccleson as the Doctor, David Tennant is pretty cool as the Doctor. I did get a bit choked up during the flashbacks of Rose, especially when the Doctor is talking to Donna at the end.

Holy Days Weekend.

Things went pretty well this weekend, though I was bummed about having to go to work on Good Friday. I did a lot of reading and ironing this weekend. On Saturday, I helped Harry and Liz move into their new home. We ate dinner at Fazoli's, and they took me home.

Today, I went to church, then had lunch with Norman and his family, Gwen, Diana, and Wanda at Norman's parents' home. Norman introduced me to the Ninetendo Wii, and I played bowling with him, his brother, and his dad. I came in third, which wasn't too bad for my first time playing a Wii. He also showed me how to play "World of Warcraft," which I did better at than bowling.....

Catch Me if You Can

I decided some of the titles I've been using with these entries are kinda bland and repetitative. So I'm going to try to do better and mix in different stuff when I can....

This weekend, I've been watching my DVD copy of Catch Me if You Can, the movie based on the true story of a 16 year-old con man who passes himself off as a copilot, a doctor, and a lawyer while using fake checks to finance his travels during the late 1960's. I don't know how much of this movie is based on fact, but it is an interesting film. This will probably be the third time I've watched it (I watched a friend's copy twice) in the last eight months.....

Meanwhile, I've been reading and watching TV. Saturday morning, I deposited most of my state income tax refund. I got my hair cut and did my laundry. Later, I got together with Harry and visited a local comic book store. We bought some stuff, then had dinner at Kentucky Fried Chicken. We went to his place and played some "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" on XBox 360.

Today, I did my grocery shopping and more reading. I ironed some shirts for work. I watched more of the movie. I might play some video games and do more reading later.....

A regular weekend.

I had a regular weekend. Did some ironing and laundry. Went to see a movie with Harry and Liz on Saturday. Afterwards, we had lunch at Fazoli's and checked out the house they're moving into a few weeks from now.

One thing that was different about this weekend was the premiere of "The Spectacular Spider-Man" animated series. I had been waiting eagerly for this for over two months. I even managed to tape the first two episodes commercial free (by pausing the "record" function) before leaving to go out with Harry and Liz. I enjoyed both episodes, even watched the 2nd one again today. They showed some interesting variations on some of Spidey's classic foes: the Vulture, the Enforcers, and Electro. They also had several characters I knew from the comic books would become villains later--including Norman Osborn, Curt Connors, and Eddie Brock......

The weekend.

Well, this was a pretty good weekend. I watched more of The Matrix (a movie I have on DVD and video that I started watching in portions this week). I did some reading and ironing. I put another small house spider in the jar with Peter (my pet funnel weaver from the apartment I used to live in).

Saturday morning, I was intrigued to see one of the house spiders had captured the other one. I couldn't tell for sure if the first one was the victim or the captor. After a visit to the bank, I hung out with Harry for most of the rest of the day. We watched Justice League: New Frontier at my place, then ran some errands. Later, we spent time playing "Dark Kingdom" with me as the wizard and him as the warrior. We spent a lot of time zapping and pounding on zombies in the game after we got out of the sewers (where we left off the last time we played the game). We visited the house he and Liz are hoping to move into later this month, then had dinner at one of the local Chili's.

Today, I did my grocery shopping with Gwen and more reading. Gwen and I were a practice audience for Diana while she did a run-through of a presentation she was giving later today. I caught a cellar spider while I was doing some sweeping in the laundry room and put him in the jar with Peter and the remaining house spider. I will be interested to see who's still alive tomorrow morning. I am thinking of playing my "Spider-Man: Friend or Foe" game later.....
