Today, I was pleasantly surprised to see and talk with Betty. Here's how it went down: some guys making modifications to the building I work in tripped the fire alarm. This was early in the morning, so I grabbed my coat and headed outside. While waiting in the parking lot to get the "all clear" (since I could see that the building wasn't actually on fire), I spotted Betty about to head into work. I waved at her, and she headed over to me.
Me: "Morning."
Betty: "Why is everyone outside?"
Me: "Fire alarm."
Betty asked me about my weekend, then we noticed people moving back toward the building. We went back inside, and she got ahead of me (we have some turnstiles in our entrance, and I got stuck behind someone). I saw her again seconds later, but this time I was ahead of her as I climbed the stairs back to our floor.
